Abstract
This writing is the result of a research process in environmental thought, with an aesthetic clue about frogs, in a symbolic configuration of the Ethos-frog-child triad, and in alternation with the ways they are biologically conceived in its objectivation. In order to carry out this research, we counted on the participation of boys and girls from the Rural Educational Institution “Hojas Anchas” in Circasia, a town in Quindio. These kids talked about the frogs conveying their proximity and perception through writings and paintings. The stories were thus organized according to the tendencies observed from what they tell, and from what they announce. They are the starting point for the construction of hints of environmental thinking, to be later considered in their aesthetic meaning. So, four tendencies emerged, which might be summarized thus: a fertile hug of contorting bodies; a frog’s clothing: flirt among lovers or lethal warning; the frog and the water: life in its power and latency; and finally, the nature as a frog: reflections of a corporeal fragility. Based upon the above headings, an Ethos-frog-child unity derives from the desire of a symbolic dissolution and its resistance to be reified, which in its turn brings new alternatives to think life anew within the classroom. In this same direction, the pictorial work of Mexican artist Teresa Irene Barrera -among other authors of environmental thought- is herein received.
